Latest member of the Celebration Centre Movement of Churches - Levi Rongopai Shaw, born 15th June 2011

Jalyssa, Levi, Dawn and Josiah
With great joy we welcome Levi Rongopai Shaw born 4 weeks early at Whangarei hospital 6lbs 3oz (2.81kgs) and 49cm long. "Rongopai" means "good news" and is the name of Levi's great, great grandfather on his mother's side. Due to the family history, his medical checkups are extremely thorough. All is well! He was discharged and spent his first night at home last night.

Nan and Koro with Levi a few hours old.
"O Lord, you alone are my hope.I’ve trusted you, O Lord, from childhood. Yes, you have been with me from birth; from my mother’s womb you have cared for me. No wonder I am always praising you!" (Psalm 71:5,6 NLT)

Our eldest son Josiah with his second born son Levi.
At this rate Levi may be able to attend his older brother Mikaera's Hura Kohatu next week. In the Maori culture a Hura Kohatu is a hui (gathering) that is usually held one year after a person has died to unveil their headstone. This service will be held on the 25th June. The unveiling of the stone itself is a modern adaptation but the principles stem from traditional times. The fundamental principles of the Hura Kohatu is to ensure that the person has not been forgotten and to help the bereaved family through the grief process, like Romans 12:15. Please be upholding our son and his wife in prayer as they go though the pain of missing Mikaera and the joy of embracing Levi.

Please Pray

Saturday 26 February 8.45am
Right now Pastor Danny Steele and his family need your prayers. Tragically Jo his beautiful wife was killed instantly in a car crash last night. A concrete truck was on the wrong side of the road round a bend. Their daughter Amy is in Dunedin hospital and will be ok. She has broken bones but is not critical.

Danny is about to formally identify Jo and has yet to return to Invercargill from Dunedin to inform the children. Please pray for him and the children through this shock.

Jo is such a rock to her family, as a couple of the children have important  dietary requirements (otherwise would be life threatening) that she has managed and tended to tirelessly everyday and of course she is Danny's helpmate in the life of the church.

Jo loved the "real deal" and so it was such a blessing to get to know her and see her love being a part of our church family. We are heartbroken.

Please pray.

Lines are Down in Christchurch - Mike is sending out a call to the churches

To pastors living outside of Christchurch,

Communication with Murray and the Christchurch leaders have been difficult due to circumstances beyond their control. Nancy has some of the church families settled out at the campsite and been able to some water into the city. You would have heard that the Centre is damaged beyond use at this stage. No casualites amongst the church members have been reported praise God, but everyone will know someone who has died or is still missing. Some families have lost everything. I understand that the cells are activating grassroots help through their networks.

I’ve tried to ring around the movement  and get a feel for what the Spirit of God may be saying. Some higher profile groups like Salvation Army, Red Cross and other churches and agencies are on the ground doing urgent relief work.

But I think we should do this; each church outside of Christchurch should take up an offering for earthquake relief and place it your own “earthquake relief” fund (Acts 11:29). This may happen for the next few weeks (1 Cor 16:1-3). This will give time for an apostolic plan to come together, for the church to make a bigger impact and for us to teach some NT principles of giving.

Anyhow, this is where we are heading in the Heart of the North and it would be tremendously encouraging if there was a collective agreement amongst movement on this direction.

Any amen’s?  CLICK HERE TO RESPOND

The Great White Hunters- Crestline- USA Pastors Chuck And Mary

This is our November Hunt in Colorado. The temperature was 25 below F. Isn't his face beautiful?

Things warmed up a bit for Chuck's hunt, it was about 23degrees F.
A very fun hunt. My wonderful guide, Chuck, called this big boy in and I layed the smack on him. He piled right up and Chuck had to drag him 250 yds. Chuck's elk was also called in by our real guide. He made a clean shot and we were able to get the quad up to him and drag him to a truck.
